Multiple USCIS filing and premium-processing fees increased from January 1, 2026, with premium processing for many petitions (including H-1B, L-1, O-1, and I-140 green card categories) rising to $2,965 effective March 1, 2026.

A travel proclamation restricting entry for nationals of a larger list of countries took effect January 1, 2026; lawful permanent residents are exempt, though enhanced screening applies to green card holders from certain countries.

A $100,000 supplemental fee applies to certain new H-1B petitions requiring consular processing for beneficiaries outside the US; this fee has been the subject of a court stay and is being litigated, with its status confirmed as reinstated as of mid-June 2026 pending appeal.

The fee does not apply to H-1B extensions, amendments, or changes of status for workers already inside the US, or to F-1 students changing status to H-1B within the US.
